Deja Vu?

How many of you remember this from over a year ago?

There was a big commotion in the media about the fact that President Bush had made a secret trip to Iraq. John was tapped by White House officials to secretly go on the trip because he knew the routine and it would be less distracting if John went as opposed to one of the official White House reporters. The full text of the above CNN article can be read here.

Well apparently Bush made another secret trip that was just revealed a few hours ago on CNN.

Of course his trip is all about PR strategy, among other things, but even so, I think it must have been a great morale-booster for the soliders on the ground in Iraq to visit with our President. I think the smiles on the soldiers’ faces below speaks volumes.

Since this is still a developing story, its not clear if John had any part in traveling with the press corps who were following President Bush. If there are any details that he did, however, I will try and post that information.

Here is the current lead-in to the developing story:

  1. That’s cool that John got to go last year. I think things like this just prove that once again that John is an excellent journalist.

I guess John didn’t go this year since I saw him on American Morning this morning…LOL!!!

It may have been cool that John went last year but I imagine very dangerous. Bush in Iraq?? Could you imagine Bin Ladin ever making a pit stop somewhere in the US? Talk about asking for a bullseye smack dab on your butt!

  3. I bet it is very dangerous.
