It’s Leap Day, People! That means today, like Presidential elections, only comes once every 4 years, good news for 48 year olds everywhere-they finally turn 12! It is also the only day I vaguely associate with frogs.
CNN has decided to celebrate this time-space anomaly with MORE POLITCAL COVERAGE! WOO0000oooooo… Sorry, I’m living a lie! I can’t keep up the excitement anymore. You would think as a contributor to a blog dedicated to CNN’s former White House correspondent and current Chief National correspondent, that the increased political coverage would be welcomed. And it was- 6 months ago. But I just can’t do it today.
On The Daily Show’s website they have a segment entitled “Remember when we cared about…” and I thought I’d adapt a John King version. So today I give you:

Well, I myself am a ‘newbie’ fan of John K.’s. In the last several months I’ve gotten so sick of the competitions’ tabloidish/sensationized coverage, so I began switching to CNN. I find I’m watching them a whole lot more than the rest, or even listening to as much talk radio.
I always made a point to watch Wolfe, because he’s a class act. Now, I’m tuning in to see what John K. has to say. His reporting and analysis are superb! I never really paid that much attention to him until recently. When I realized just how good he is, well…I’m hooked.
I know folks out there get burned out on the politics, but hey…I would much rather listen to politics, than who killed who…blah, blah, blah. That stuff has a place…
Anyway, I have grown to like CNN more because of Lou Dobbs, which got me more interested in CNN’s news. Like I said, Wolfe has always been a class act and dependable for the ‘news you can trust’, but with the addition of Mr. King, it’s the best!
I’ve gone over your blog to get caught up on Mr. King and I appreciate the time you’ve put in to it…hope you keep it up. The questions and answers were great! I remembered him doing the secret service thing. That was cool!
Maybe I’ll be privelaged enough to ask a question in the future.
I’m even watching Anderson more, now…I didn’t realize John K. had filled in for him…he sure did great filling in last Sunday for Wolfe on Late Edition, too. But, I look forward to seeing him fill in for Anderson…maybe get to see his sense of humor and smile more?!!!
Sorry you’re burned out…I’m just getting fired up!!!

I vaguely remember John covering Israel vs. Hezbollah. To be honest, I don’t even rememeber much of Anderson’s coverage either, I know, I am a bad AnderFan and John fan. However those are very nice screencaps!!!
Honestly “J”, welcome to the blog!!! I see that you like when John fills in for Anderson. I do too. If Anderson can’t be there, I like to see John in the anchor chair. With that said, I don’t want him on there too much, becuase that means Anderson isn’t on…LOL!!! I need my daily Anderfix 😆

I agree with you, I like politics more than the latest crime story. But I needed a break if I had any hope of caring when Tuesday comes around.
Hey AC, now with Erica around full-time do you think she’s going to be filling in for Anderson instead of JK?
Mebz, I think Ercia might be filling in for Anderson now that she is there. If I rememeber correctly her role on 360 is correspodent and sub-anchor. Actually I am just waiting for Anderson to be off so I can see Erica fill in for him. However, I still hope that we get to see John fill in for AC, he always does such an excellent job.

Well I thought Erica was supposed to be Anderson’s fill in when he is not there, but it looks like we get Soledad tonight. I have nothing against Soledad, I think she is a fantastic journalist, but I would like to see Ercia fill in for Mr.Cooper.

I haven’t heard back yet from George Clooney. Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp are confirmed. I’m still waiting to hear from Keanu Reeves. Oh, and my very favorite pal, Josh Groban, confirmed he’ll be there, too. He’ll be providing our musical entertainment.
I’ll be a little late to the festivities, I have a meeting that evening. But I’ll be there later with “bells” on.
I am very happy that Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp will be at the BBQ as well as Josh Groban. He has such a beautiful singing voice. I hope George Clooney will be able to attend. He was alot of fun at the last party 🙂
